ADAS Calibration in Saskatoon, SK
Saskatoon Prestige Windshield does ADAS calibration in Saskatoon for any car with a camera on its windshield. Once the new glass is set, we re-aim that camera so your lane departure warning, automatic braking and adaptive cruise read the road the way the factory intended.

The forward-facing camera clips onto a bracket glued to the glass behind your mirror. New windshield, new bracket, and the camera ends up sitting a fraction of a degree off where it was. Anyone who’s skipped a curling rink knows how much that matters: set the broom a few centimetres wide and the rock sails right past the house.
And the camera won’t tell you. No light, no chime. It just reads the lane paint and the bumper ahead from a slightly wrong angle, 100 metres up the road. We calibrate every equipped car before it leaves, and we don’t call it an add-on, because it isn’t one.
Look behind your rear-view mirror. A black housing on the glass with a little lens in it means there’s a camera.
Lane Departure Warning
The beep, or the buzz through the wheel, when you wander over a line. It works off the paint, so a camera that’s aimed slightly off warns late or doesn’t warn at all.
Lane Keeping Assist
The soft tug on the steering that keeps you between the lines. Same camera, same aim, same need.
Automatic Emergency Braking
Braking on its own for a stopped car ahead. On some models the camera teams up with a radar unit behind the grille.
Adaptive Cruise and Rain Sensors
Cruise that holds a gap, wipers that switch on by themselves, speed projected onto the glass. All of them check in after a windshield goes in.

How Much Does ADAS Calibration Cost in Saskatoon?
ADAS calibration in Saskatoon costs $300 to $800 in 2026 when you pay for it yourself. The price depends on whether your car gets aimed in the shop with targets, on a road drive, or both. When the new windshield goes through an SGI claim, calibration is included and you only pay your glass deductible.
| Calibration | Paying yourself | On an SGI claim |
|---|---|---|
| Static calibration (targets in the shop) | $300 to $550 | Included |
| Dynamic calibration (road drive) | $300 to $450 | Included |
| Static and dynamic both | Up to about $800 | Included |
| Windshield plus calibration | $550 to $1,400 | $50, $100 or $700 deductible |
A few trucks and luxury models have a second camera or a heads-up display, which adds time. We pull the maker’s procedure for your exact model before we quote.
We’ve run about 1,100 calibrations through the shop, by our own count, and the honest truth is that most are boring. That’s the goal. The interesting ones are the cars somebody else swapped glass on without aiming the camera.
Types of ADAS Calibration
Static Calibration
Static calibration is indoor work. The car sits dead level, a calibration target (a printed pattern board, usually a checkerboard) goes up at a measured height and distance, and the scan tool, the computer we plug in under the dash, tells the camera to find it. Millimetres count, so we keep one level, marked corner of the shop for nothing else.
Dynamic Calibration
Dynamic calibration is a drive. The scan tool switches the camera into learning mode, and we drive set speeds on roads with good, clear lane paint until it locks on. Circle Drive and Highway 16 east of town do the trick when the lines are showing.
Combined Static and Dynamic
Certain makers want both: the target aim indoors, then a confirm drive. That takes longer, so those windshields get booked first thing in the morning to fit it all in one day.
Rain Sensor and Heads-Up Display Checks
A rain sensor is an optical sensor stuck to the glass, and it gets a fresh gel pad with every new windshield. A heads-up display projects onto special glass, so getting the right windshield matters more than any aim there. We check both on the test drive.
Does My Car Need Calibration After a Windshield?
Yes, if there’s a camera mounted on the glass behind the mirror. Most vehicles built from about 2018 on have one, and plenty from 2014 to 2017 do too. The lane warning beep, the steering nudge back into your lane and automatic emergency braking all rely on that camera pointing exactly where the factory set it.
We think the simplest test is your owner’s manual: if it lists lane departure warning, forward collision warning or a camera behind the mirror, plan on calibration with every windshield.
Wheel alignments, front-end collisions and lift kits can knock a camera out too. We only calibrate cars getting glass work here, so for those jobs your dealer is the better call.
Winter and Dynamic Calibration
Every January somebody asks us why we won’t just do the road drive. Because the camera needs to see lane paint, and from about November to March most of Saskatoon’s lines sit under snow, sand or both. A camera that can’t find the lines times out, and you’re back next week.
So in winter we lean on static calibration inside the heated shop wherever the maker allows it, and save the road drive for a clear, dry day when it’s required. Coming in from Aberdeen or Clavet? We’ll tell you up front which kind your car needs so you can plan the day. Paying through insurance? Have a look at SGI windshield claims.
What is ADAS calibration?
ADAS calibration means re-aiming the camera behind your mirror so your car’s safety features read the road correctly again, like the lane drift warning and the automatic braking. A new windshield puts the camera on a new bracket, so a scan tool plus targets or a road drive lines it back up with the factory settings.
How long does ADAS calibration take?
Plan on 30 to 60 minutes for a static calibration in the shop, or 30 to 45 minutes of driving for a dynamic one. Cars that need both can take up to about two hours. It happens the same day as the windshield, once the urethane has set enough to move the car.
Is ADAS calibration covered by SGI?
Yes. If the windshield goes through an SGI glass claim, calibration is part of the covered job and all you pay is your deductible: $50 or $100 on most package policies, $700 on plate insurance alone. Paying cash, expect $300 to $800 for the calibration by itself.
What happens if I skip calibration?
Skip it and the camera can read the lane and the traffic ahead from the wrong angle. Lane warnings show up late, lane keeping can steer you toward the shoulder, and automatic braking can react late or slam on for nothing. Usually there’s no warning light, so you’d never know.
Can you calibrate in the winter?
Yes. Static calibration happens inside our heated shop, so it works any day of the year, minus 30 or not. Dynamic calibration needs lane lines it can see, so if the maker requires a road drive and the roads are white, we book that part for the next clear day and tell you first.
A few words from drivers we have set glass for this year.
Gravel truck got me on Highway 11 and the crack was across the whole windshield by morning. They filed the SGI claim, I paid my $100 and had the truck back before lunch. No mess inside, no whistle on the highway.
Kyle D.WarmanPickup windshield My SUV has the lane camera and the dealer wanted a week. Prestige did the windshield and the calibration the same afternoon and showed me the printout. The lane assist works like it did before.
Priya S.StonebridgeWindshield and calibration Had a chip the size of a dime. They filled it in about twenty minutes and it cost me nothing with my package policy. Honest enough to say I did not need a new windshield.
Marlene T.WillowgroveChip repair Someone smashed my passenger window downtown. They picked the car up from my work, replaced the glass, vacuumed every bit out of the door and dropped it back by four. Fair price.
