Windshield Replacement in Vanscoy, SK
Shift worker, family car or company pickup, Saskatoon Prestige Windshield handles windshield replacement in Vanscoy, SK. We fit new windshields, fill rock chips, replace door glass and back sliders, and calibrate lane cameras in a heated Saskatoon shop about 30 minutes up Highway 7.

Vanscoy is a small village with a big neighbour, the potash mine just outside town. Shift workers, contractors and heavy haulers all share Highway 7 and the access roads. So we see a lot of pickups with gravel chips, driven by people who need the truck back before the next shift starts.
- Pickup and work truck windshields, see truck windshield replacement
- Chips from heavy haul traffic on Highway 7
- Cracks from gravel access roads
- Lane cameras aimed after new glass, see ADAS calibration
- SGI claims started at the desk
Tell us your rotation when you book. Coming off nights? Drop the truck at 8 and go to bed. It’ll be done, cured and calibrated by early afternoon.
Working days? A Saturday slot or a night in our heated shop usually fits better.

Vanscoy is a village of about 480 people, up a little since 2016. The fields around it are farmed, but the jobs lean on potash. The mine outside town ships about 1.79 million tonnes a year, and moving that much takes a lot of trucks and a lot of people driving to shifts.
Highway 7 used to run down the middle of the village. In 2019 the province moved it north onto a 12 km bypass, part of the 31 km of twinned road between Delisle and the city. Traffic moves faster now, and a faster stone hits harder. We’ve seen the difference in the chips.
And there’s gravel everywhere else. Mine access roads, grid roads to the acreages, Highway 762 down toward Pike Lake. A stone off gravel usually leaves a star break with little legs. Fill it early and it stays small.
Types of Auto Glass Work We Do for Vanscoy Drivers
Work Truck Windshields
Most of what we see from Vanscoy is half-tons and three-quarter tons. Newer ones carry a camera, a rain sensor and sometimes a heated wiper strip in the windshield. We order glass by VIN so every bracket lines up, and we calibrate the camera before the keys go back to you.
Rock Chip Repair
If the chip is smaller than a loonie and not out at the edge, we can usually save it. Air out, resin in, UV lamp on. It’s $70 for the first chip and $25 for each one after, and most package policies pay the whole thing.
Side and Back Glass
Door windows and back sliders are tempered glass. A rock off a grader or a wrench sliding around in the box will do it. In our experience it always happens right before a long shift. We vacuum out the cubes, fit new glass and test the power window and the defroster grid. More on our car window replacement page.
Calibration
Automatic emergency braking and lane departure warning both depend on one camera. That forward-facing camera sits up on your windshield behind the mirror. After new glass we aim it at a printed target on a level floor, run the scan tool, and check it on a short drive before you head back to site.
How Much Does Windshield Replacement Cost in Vanscoy?
For Vanscoy drivers in 2026, windshield replacement costs $350 to $700 out of pocket on most cars and light trucks, and $550 to $1,400 on trucks and SUVs that need a camera calibration. With an SGI Auto Pak you usually pay a $50 or $100 glass deductible. Plate coverage alone has $700.
| Job | Out of pocket | Shop time |
|---|---|---|
| Rock chip, first one | $70 | About 30 minutes |
| Car windshield, no camera | $350 to $700 | 60 to 90 minutes |
| Pickup windshield with calibration | $550 to $1,400 | About 3 hours |
| Back slider glass | $350 to $800 | 1 to 2 hours |
The number we quote is what you pay. We price the exact part for your VIN before we order.
A Windshield Holds Up More Than You Think
Your windshield is more than a window. Picture the top board on a grain truck box, the piece that keeps the sides from bowing out once it’s loaded. In a rollover the glass helps hold the roof up, and plenty of passenger airbags bounce off it on the way to the passenger.
That’s why we fuss over the bond. Primer on the metal, urethane rated for airbag loads, and the full safe drive-away time in a heated shop before the truck leaves. We’d rather you wait an hour than drive home on a weak bead.
Getting to Us From Vanscoy
Count on half an hour to our door. Hours run 8 to 4:30 Monday to Friday, plus Saturdays by appointment. Free pickup and drop-off is a Saskatoon-only thing, so Vanscoy customers drive in. Bring your SGI customer number and plate number and we’ll take care of the claim.
Every installation has our lifetime warranty against leaks and wind noise. East of the city on the Yellowhead? We look after Clavet drivers too.
Can you get my truck back before my next shift?
Most of the time, yes. A pickup windshield is about 90 minutes to install, then roughly an hour of calibration and 1 to 2 hours for the urethane to cure. Drop it off at 8 and it’s normally ready by early afternoon. Give us your shift times and we’ll plan around them.
Do you replace glass on company work trucks?
Yes. We do windshields and side glass on pickups, vans and light work trucks, and we can bill a company account. We don’t do mining equipment, tractors or heavy equipment glass. See our truck windshield page for fleet details.
Will a chip from a gravel road spread in winter?
More often than not. Water seeps into the chip, freezes and pushes it wider, and hot defrost air on cold glass does the same thing from inside. Tape over a fresh chip and bring it in within a week. We think a $70 fill beats a $500 windshield every single time.
What do I bring for an SGI windshield claim?
Bring your SGI customer number, your plate number and the date the damage happened. We start the windshield claim at the desk, you pay your glass deductible, and we bill SGI for the rest. Side and back glass can sometimes need an online claim first.
A few words from drivers we have set glass for this year.
Gravel truck got me on Highway 11 and the crack was across the whole windshield by morning. They filed the SGI claim, I paid my $100 and had the truck back before lunch. No mess inside, no whistle on the highway.
Kyle D.WarmanPickup windshield My SUV has the lane camera and the dealer wanted a week. Prestige did the windshield and the calibration the same afternoon and showed me the printout. The lane assist works like it did before.
Priya S.StonebridgeWindshield and calibration Had a chip the size of a dime. They filled it in about twenty minutes and it cost me nothing with my package policy. Honest enough to say I did not need a new windshield.
Marlene T.WillowgroveChip repair Someone smashed my passenger window downtown. They picked the car up from my work, replaced the glass, vacuumed every bit out of the door and dropped it back by four. Fair price.
