Windshield Replacement in Clavet, SK
Clavet is one of our closest towns for windshield replacement. Saskatoon Prestige Windshield is about 20 minutes away on the Yellowhead, and we replace windshields, fill chips, fix broken side and back glass, and calibrate lane cameras in a heated shop.

Clavet sits on Old Highway 16, a little south of the newer Yellowhead. West of town the highway is divided. East of town it drops to two lanes, and you meet oncoming semis a few metres away. If a Clavet windshield comes in with a star break, that’s usually where it happened.
- Chips from oncoming semis east of town, see windshield chip repair
- Acreage gravel and school bus routes
- Cracked windshields on family SUVs with cameras, see ADAS calibration
- Door glass broken in a parking lot
- SGI claims done for you
Clavet is close enough that plenty of people drop the car, get a ride home and come back after lunch. A chip fill is about 30 minutes, so you can just wait for that one.

Clavet is a village of about 450 people, up nearly 10% since 2016, and it’s only 15 km southeast of the city. The Yellowhead used to run right past the elevators. A bypass in the 2000s shifted it north, so these days you get into town off Highway 316.
From Alberta to just east of Clavet, Highway 16 is divided. Past that it’s two lanes all the way to Manitoba. On two lanes, an oncoming semi goes by a few metres from your mirror at full speed, and anything it throws is headed straight at you.
Clavet Composite School takes kids from Kindergarten to Grade 12 and pulls them in from farms and acreages across the RM. Buses and parents on gravel every school day add up. In our experience September and October are Clavet’s worst months for chips.
Types of Auto Glass Work We Do for Clavet Drivers
Rock Chip Repair
Under a loonie, a bullseye or star break usually fills in about 30 minutes. We pull the air out, push clear resin in and cure it with UV light. The first one is $70, extras are $25 each, and most package policies cover it in full.
Windshield Replacement
Once a crack runs past about 15 cm, starts at the edge or sits right in front of the driver, a fill won’t cut it and you need a new windshield. We fit OEM glass or OEM-equivalent glass matched to your VIN. It goes in on a fresh bead of urethane adhesive. Most installs wrap up in 60 to 90 minutes.
Door and Back Windows
Side and back glass is tempered, so it breaks into cubes, much like a dropped tray of ice. We vacuum out the door and the seats, fit the new piece and check the window motor. On back glass we test the defroster grid too. See car window replacement.
Camera Calibration
Lots of vehicles from 2018 on carry a forward-facing camera for lane keeping and emergency braking. After the new glass goes in, we calibrate that camera in the shop against a printed target and then check it out on the road. On an SGI claim it’s covered along with the windshield.
How Much Does Windshield Replacement Cost in Clavet?
Clavet drivers paying out of pocket in 2026 can expect $350 to $700 for windshield replacement on most cars, and $550 to $1,400 when a camera needs calibration. With an SGI Auto Pak the glass deductible is usually $50 or $100. Plate coverage alone carries a $700 deductible.
- Chip repair: $70 for the first, $25 each extra
- Windshield, no camera: $350 to $700
- Windshield with calibration: $550 to $1,400
- Door glass: $250 to $450
- Back glass: $350 to $800
Our Advice for Two-Lane Driving
Honestly, most chips are bad luck. A few habits still help. When a loaded truck is coming at you on two lanes, ease off and drift toward the shoulder a touch. When you’re following one, hang back four or five seconds. Shoulder gravel gets flicked up every time a tire drops off the pavement.
And if you do take a chip, don’t sit on it till spring. Freeze-thaw nights push water into the break and spread it. Every April we see Clavet windshields that were a $70 fill back in November. Last winter it was close to one a week.
Coming In From Clavet
From Clavet it’s roughly 20 minutes to our door. We’re open 8 to 4:30 Monday to Friday, and Saturdays by appointment. Free pickup and drop-off is for Saskatoon addresses only. Once a new windshield is in, the urethane needs 1 to 2 hours in the heated shop to reach safe drive-away strength.

Can I wait while you fix a chip?
Sure. A chip fill is about 30 minutes, so most Clavet customers just wait. A full windshield is 60 to 90 minutes plus 1 to 2 hours of cure time, so for that one people usually drop the car and come back. Book ahead and we’ll have the slot ready.
My chip is right in front of the driver. Can it be filled?
Sometimes, but we usually recommend replacing it. A filled chip leaves a faint mark, and in the driver’s line of sight that can catch the light. A crack there can also get you a ticket. We’ll look and tell you honestly which way to go.
Do you calibrate cameras on all vehicles?
We calibrate the forward-facing camera on most cars, SUVs and pickups after a new windshield. A few models need a dealer step, and we tell you up front if yours is one of them. Calibration runs $300 to $800 out of pocket and is covered on SGI windshield claims.
Does SGI cover side window glass?
Usually, if you have a package policy, but the claim works a little differently. Side and back glass can need an online claim or a call to SGI first, while a windshield claim is started at our desk. We help either way and bill SGI for the covered part.
A few words from drivers we have set glass for this year.
